Check-in/Check-out (CICO) is the most widely implemented Tier II intervention for the 10-15% of K-12 students needing support with chronic, mild behavior problems. CICO provides positive and meaningful connections for students who frequently fail to respond to school wide positive behavior supports. Students are recommended for CICO based on office referral data, teacher recommendation, and student request. Parents are contacted when a student is recommended for CICO intervention.
