California Junior Scholarship Federation
What is CJSF?
CJSF is a nonprofit organization who's mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service among middle school students in California. Like CSF, CJSF emphasizes service to the school and the community while encouraging pride in scholastic achievement.
Eligibility?
Eligible students become members by submitting applications based on their final trimester grades (not progress reports). Membership is for one trimester. Members must reapply at the beginning of every trimester in order to maintain their membership within the first four weeks of the new trimester. To Qualify for CJSF membership you must:
1. Earn twice the number of points than academic subjects in which the student is enrolled
2. Earn a total of 8 pts from the following four academic courses: ELA, Math, History, Science
3. Points are granted as follows: A = 3 pts., B = 1 pt., C = 0 pts., D/F in any class will disqualify from membership for the trimester.
CJSF students may be disqualified from membership based on poor citizenship. It will be up to the CJSF Advisor and Principal to determine disqualification.
Honor Member?
7th & 8th grade students who participate in CJSF for 3 or more trimesters will earn special recognition and a CJSF cord at graduation. (Starting the 2025-26 school year, students will have to participate for 4 or more trimesters to be a Honor Member).
